Gryphons Soccer Club attracts and retains the highest caliber professional coaching staff on the Peninsula. Our coaches are USSF and NSCAA certified and most have played at the collegiate level through professional and international leagues. Our coaches have integrated their own playing experience with the necessary accreditations and knowledge to become premier youth soccer coaches.
GSC coaches are dedicated to one or more teams for multiple seasons. By spending so much time with the players, our coaches really get to know the players’ personalities and abilities, and the coach and players create a strong bond.

Playing Experience
Coach Nick is a product of the English youth academy system where he went through the ranks at club level before joining Norwich City FC as a player. Nick later went on to play semi pro soccer in the non league in England before creating his own Sunday league team as player manager. Nick was extremely successful, winning the league and cup in a two year tenure.

Playing Experience
John Tsamasfyros is a parent-coach in the Gryphons 99G Academy. An accomplished athlete, John grew up in Vail, Colorado where he was a highly-ranked ski racer for the U.S. Junior National Team and an all-state soccer defender. Later, John attended St. Lawrence University, where he was a NCAA Division I ski racer and a Division III soccer player. He competed in the NCAA Ski championships three times and was named the most valuable skier at St. Lawrence in 1992 and 1994. A member of the St. Lawrence soccer team, John played Division III soccer as a defender for two years. After college, John ski raced on the professional tour for two years while teaching skiing in Colorado.
